Join us to bring in Shabbat with Eleanor Marx!
Date/time: 15th June, 19:00
Location: Central Londn – email firstname.lastname@example.org for details
Unrestrained by convention, lion-hearted and free, Eleanor Marx (1855-98) was the foremother of socialist feminism. She was the first woman to lead the British dock workers’ and gas workers’ trades unions. For years she worked tirelessly for her father, Karl Marx, as personal secretary and researcher. She was the one to take her father’s philosophy and political theory out into the world and see how it could work on the ground. Join us to learn more about Eleanor, as we discuss the book Eleanor Marx by Rachel Holmes! https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/eleanor-marx-9781408843239/
We meet in an accessable central london location (or if it’s nice weather, outside). Since it’s dinner time, please feel free to bring a packed dinner you’d like to eat. It’s Erev Shabbos, so if people are keen, we can do blessings/challah/wine/etc. If you feel called to do so, you can bring a vegan/veggie snack to share.
